Manchester United agreed to a world-record deal with Leicester for the transfer of Harry Maguire.

Manchester United have agreed on signing Leicester highly-rated defender Harry Maguire for a reported fee of £80m, a world-record fee for a defender.

Manchester United had been linked with Harry Maguire all through in this summer transfer window, the Red Devil are planning to strengthen their defence ahead of the new season.

The 26-year-old England international player is expected to have his Medical this weekend.

Maguire will become Manchester Utd third summer signing, after completion of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace and Daniel James from Swansea.

Manchester Utd is also interested in signing Juventus forward Paulo Dybala in a swap deal that includes their striker Romelu Lukaku.

Harry Maguire is still on four years contract with Leicester, and they’ve been chanting the England defender is not for sale all the summer but they finally accept the new bid from Man Utd.

Maguire started his football career at Sheffield United in 2011, making 139 league appearances, he joined Hull City in 2014.

Harry Maguire appeared 69 times in the Premier League for Leicester, he joined from Hull City in 2017.

The deal indicates Maguire will become the world’s most expensive defender, surpassing the £75m Liverpool gave Southampton for Virgil van Dijk transfer in 2018.

Maguire made his debutant for England on August 2017, he was part of England team that entered the 2018 World cup semi-final in Russia.
