Arsenal confirmed the departure of Alex Iwobi to join Everton.

Everton has completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi from Arsenal for a reported fee of £35m.

Iwobi signed a five-year contract deal with Everton after the two clubs reached an agreement on the Deadline Day, with Everton giving £28m upfront, plus up to £7m in supplementary fees.

The Toffees turn their attention to the 23-year-old Nigerian after the failure of signing Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha, but Everton manager Marco Silva said Iwobi had always been on his wishlist.

Iwobi signing made it seventh Everton’s completed summer signing following the additions of goalkeeper Jonas Lössl, right-back Djibril Sidibe, midfielders Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin, and striker Moise Kean.

Iwobi came through Arsenal’s academy and made his debutant in 2015 he then played 148 matches and contributed 15 goals for the Gunners.
