Tiger Woods is recovering from knee surgery with hopes of returning to action in October.
Tiger Woods has declared that he may return to action in October after undergoing knee surgery last week.
The defending Masters champion and his surgeons are adamant that last week’s knee surgery was only “trivial” and that he will be eligible and ready to participate in the PGA Tour’s brand-new event in Japan, the ZOZO Championship, from 24-27 October.
The 43-year-old, who ended an 11-year drought to claim his 15th major in April, stated that the arthroscopic surgery repaired minor cartilage injury in his left knee.
The 15-time major winner has had four previous operations in his left knee and four back surgeries. The arthroscopic operation was performed by Dr Vern Cooley in order to repair the golfer cartilage damage, who said after the successful surgery: “I expect Tiger to make a full recovery,” Dr Cooley said in a statement posted on Woods’s official website. “We did what was needed and also examined the entire knee. There were no extra problems.”
Woods states in a statement on his official website: “I’m walking now and hope to resume training in the coming weeks, I look forward to travelling and participating in Japan in October.” He added: “I would like to thank Dr Verne Cooley and his partners.”
Woods retired from this month’s Northern Trust sooner before his tee time citing a mild injury but returned to the BMW Championship at Medinah Country Club.
Though, his 37th-place finish indicated he did not qualify for the Tour Championship finale, which he acquired a year before to put an end to his five-year spell without a PGA title.
On April 14, 2019, Tiger Woods wins the 2019 Masters Tournament. Tiger Woods added to his Masters prominence by flipping his normal script in a Sunday matinee at Augusta National Golf Club to claim his fifth green jacket. Watch the video below:
Presently, the tournament will simply be satisfied for Woods’s enthusiasm. He is expected to play at the Zozo Championship in October, the first PGA Tour event ever to be premier in Japan, and after that, his next assignment on the calendar is currently the tournament that he sells, the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, on the first week in December.
