Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi drops the Catalan club exit hints and is expected to occur on June 2020, it was confirmed in a report by El Pais yesterday that the player has the option to leave Barcelona at the end of any season.

Messi is still on a contract at the Camp Nou running till 2021, however, a statement on El Pais official websites declared there’s a condition on his contract which enables him to exit the club at the conclusion of every season base on his preference and desire to leave the club.

Messi’s contract with Barcelona appears to not significantly expire in 2021, according to EL PAÍS proved sources of agreement and the Barça club. But the attacker had maintained the probability of ending the deal validated in 2017 every June 30.

The club source indicates: “We assume that you can stop whenever you want, at the end of each season, we agree on both parties,” the decision they do not view spontaneous or unique although comparable to the contracts that were previously formalized in their day with Barca legends Carles Puyol, Xavi and Andres Iniesta all had similar agreements in their final years at Barca, the two midfielders opted a move to Qatar and Japan, respectively.

The connection is based on Barça-Messi fidelity though he is authorised and permitted to do so, no one in the Barca club fears that Messi can negotiate from next January with another club nor fears that he can leave Camp Nou in June. The 10, doesn’t want to encounter pressured by Barça or Argentina. Its environment and the Barca entity have not explained if there is any financial sentence in case the Rosario chose to withdraw Barça next season.

Messi can only utilise this option if he is leaving Barcelona for a club outside Europe, giving us a believe that this clause is invented for him to revert to Argentina. It was understood that the 32-year-old may want to return to boyhood club Newell’s Old Boys where he started his football career and had said on several occasions that he would like to finish his career with the club.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner spent all his whole career with Barcelona and has renewed his contract with the La Liga champions eight times since 2005 till his last renewal in 2017 with his release clause rising to €700 million in the process.

Gerard Pique said Lionel Messi has acquired the right to move away from Barcelona when he thinks it’s the right time following his emerged that the striker could walk away on a free agent next summer. Pique is cognizant of the existence of the clause but declares he is not bothered concerning Messi leaving Barcelona any moment soon.

He said: “I already knew Messi is able to leave for free at the end of each season,” the defender told Cadena Ser. “But we all know the commitment Leo has to Barca and it doesn’t worry me at all. He’s earned the right to be able to choose what he does with his future after everything he’s given the club.”

Messi reaches 600 goals for Barça. Lionel Messi has now reached 600 goals with FC Barcelona. The Argentinian is La Liga’s Pichichi top scorer and the European Golden Boot winner achieved a new landmark after his brace against Liverpool at Camp Nou in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

On July 2017 he was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League side Manchester City because he was concerned about serving time in prison after being pronounced guilty of tax fraud.

A claim emerging from Catalan broadcaster TV3 has suggested that Messi informed City coach Pep Guardiola that he wanted to join him in Manchester.

It was said that on 6th July 2017, the exact day Messi was sentenced to 21 months in prison, banned, his father Jorge got in touch with City chief executive Ferran Soriano to notify him that the player wanted to depart Camp Nou. When Guardiola reported for work at his new job a few days later he allegedly also received a call that Messi obliged to see him in a one-on-one.

That inspired Pep to initiate the journey to Messi’s home in Castelldefels to the north of Barcelona, where it was claimed that an upset Messi told the coach he felt ‘trapped‘.

It was then that Messi Sr. is said to have contacted Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu to tell him of the situation. But Bartomeu made it clear that the club wouldn’t let the five-time Ballon d’Or winner go and himself also went to personally see Messi at home.

Around that time it had been reported that Messi had told Barça he wouldn’t negotiate a new contract, which had also followed further international disappointment after losing a second Copa America final in as many years.

The conversation with Bartomeu seemed to help change his mind about effectively running away from his problems, though. The president always maintained confidence that Messi would sign a new deal and he eventually put pen to paper.

So far, zero recommends that Messi actually craves to devise the Camp Nou though, and all will proceed as normal, but a bizarre market opportunity could present itself.

The forward contracts up in 2021, that only gives one more summer for him to abolish his contract anyway and Barca are presumed to attempt an offer for their captain contracts extension in the coming months.

He’s yet to play for the Spanish champions this season, due to a calf injury. He’s taking advantage of the current international break to do recovery work with the hope of returning to action next weekend against Valencia in La Liga.

His last competitive match was for Argentina against Chile in the Copa America at the beginning of July.
