Barcelona and Real Madrid prepare shock move for Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp and defender Virgil van Dijk.
The La Liga pair giants teams have produced a depressing start in their Spanish league this seasons, with neither acquiring more than two wins from their opening four games and both outside of the top two in the early-season table.
There is pressure on Ernesto Valverde at the Nou Camp and Zinedine Zidane at the Santiago Bernabeu to better their results, and lemon to obtain domestic or European honours at the end of this season may see both of them out of work next summer.
Liverpool does not crave to see Klopp or Van Dijk leave and it would take an extraordinary proposal from either Spanish side to get the Reds to even contemplate accepting.
Klopp is still on a contract with Liverpool that will mature in 2022 and has continually transpired about his intention to see out the deal, but likely to leave after it comes to an end. Van Dijk recently agreed to an enormous new contract deal with Liverpool at the beginning of this month, committing to a six-year deal that’ll keep him at the club till 2025.
The pair have assisted Liverpool in transforming into one of Europe’s elegant team, with Klopp’s tactics and Van Dijk’s influence both essential to the Reds‘ run to Champions League brilliance last season.
The Netherlands international has grown into one of the best central defenders in world football since his switch to Anfield from Southampton in January 2018.
The former Celtic defender has converted a plethora of individual honours for his fine performances and has been effective for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the time since – helping them reach two Champions League finals, including the triumph over Tottenham earlier this year and helped them finish second in the Premier League table last season.
They currently sit atop the Premier League tables, having opened up a five-point lead over rivals Manchester City. Liverpool remains desperate to win the league title. so losing Klopp or Van Dijk is not even an option for them.
Klopp and Van Dijk’s values continue to soar with an excellent start to the new season which has accompanied them winning all five of their Premier League matches.
A 3-1 triumph over Newcastle on Saturday has proffered them a five-point lead already and Klopp articulated his team’s need to keep up their ‘brilliant’ performances.
Klopp said: “If we are playing our football, if we use our potential, if we have a top attitude then we are a difficult team to play against, that is what we all created together here, together with the crowd, it is a really difficult place to come.”
He continued: “That is why we had the results we had – it is not one reason or two or three but it is still difficult, it is really difficult. We are obviously different from other really top teams because we need intensity and that is exactly when we stepped up intensity wise.”
“When we didn’t pass the ball around, and they (Newcastle) are always in the right place in their formation so we had to speed it up, we knew it before the game but in the game the boys needed a bit of time to do that and when they did it, they did it immediately and it looks immediately different.”
However, there’s currently no official report on renewal and the latest report claims that both Los Blancos and the Blaugrana are keen on landmark dealing.
